Quijote: Ecuador

  • Origin: Zamora Chinchipe, APECAP Cooperative
  • Price: 24€/Kilo
  • Blend: 100% Arabica, Typica/Caturra
  • Character: cocoa, fruity, carrot(?)
Preparation

Ground with Rancillio Rocky S, prepared in the Dalla Corte Mini. Brewed at around 94°C. Normal grind, normal pour time. Slightly overdosed, beans are nice.

Taste

While I truely want to get into lighter roast and more fruity drinks, I've recently mostly had crema bombs with very coffee-y tastes. This is a welcome change, but I did not manage to dial it in correctly, so there was always a hard to pin note of carrots lingering.

Would buy again ?

A rather gentle entry into the world of lighter roasts. As it's not too pricey I would gladly grab another bag to continue experimenting on it.
